Who We Are?

Indiana Society of Acupuncture is a non-profit organization representing nationally certified (NCCAOM) practitioners in the state of Indiana.

Our Mission includes:

  • Safeguarding and promoting the practice of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine through legislation.

  • Promoting excellence in the profession by offering quality continuing education.

  • Educating the public on the scope of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine as a complete medical system.

  • Providing a resource where the public can find highly trained, board certified Acupuncturists and East Asian Medicine

  • Supporting integration of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine into the health care system in Indiana

IMPORTANT UPDATE 4.15.24- INSA is currently working with the Professional Licensing Agency to update incorrect verbiage stated online in the Administrative Code 844 IAC 13-5-4.  Patients do NOT need a referral from a doctor in order to see an acupuncturist.  A temporary non policy rule document has been approved updating this verbiage in the meantime.

Also, please remember that to hold a valid acupuncture license in the state of Indiana, you must have a current NCCAOM license.  This is necessary to obtain a new license as well as to renew a license.
